Absorbent alginate dressing

Melgisorb is a highly absorbent dressing for superficial and cavity wounds. It is presented as soft alginate fibres formed into a nonvowen material.

Melgisorb absorbs large amounts of wound exudate. When absorbing, the alginate fibres form a soft moist gel, giving a moist environment conducive to wound healing. The gel can easily be removed by irrigating with normal saline.

Indications:

Melgisorb can be used for a wide range of moderately to heavily exuding partial to full thickness wounds such as:

§  Pressure ulcers

§  Leg ulcers

§  Diabetic foot ulcers

§  Donor sites

§  Surgical wounds

Highly absorbent antimicrobial alginate dressing

Melgisorb Ag is a nonwoven dressing made of alginate CMC fiber which contains Ag. Dressing offers a sustained antimicrobial effect. In vitro testing shows antimicrobial effect from 4 hours up to 21 days. The dressing is designed in the management of medium and profound wounds, infected and cleaned. The dressing prevents wound infection grace to antimicrobial effect.

Indications:

Melgisorb Ag is indicated for the management of moderate to heavily exuding partial to full thickness wounds such as:

§  post-operative surgical wounds

§  trauma wounds (dermal lesions, trauma injuries or incisions)

§  leg ulcers

§  pressures ulcers

§  diabetic ulcers

§  graft and donor sites

§  partial thickness burns
