Universal Suction Catheters

Unomedical’s Mülly suction catheters have become a widespread standard in open tracheobronchial suctioning. Their design enables universal application while providing a high degree of atraumaticity.

Mülly suction catheters are available in many different configurations such as different lengths, with metric marking, with funnel or with Vacutip vacuum control and even in PVC-free, highly environmental friendly design.

All Unomedical tracheobronchial suction catheters feature a silk shape with atraumatically rounded corners and gently processed, soft shaped central and lateral eyes for best protection for the sensitive mucosal tissue.

Intensive Care Suction Catheters

The configuration of the tip of a suction catheter has a strong impact on possible traumatisation of the tracheo-bronchial mucosa during suction procedures. Especially in Intensive Care, where endotracheal and endobronchial suction is performed repeatedly over longer periods on critically ill patients, risk of mucosal irritation and trauma should be minimised.

Paediatric & Neonatal Suctioning

Insertion depth and vacuum control of suction catheter plays a major role especially in neonatal and pediatric airway management.

Compared to adult patients, the distance from the end of a tracheal tube to the carina is much shorter. In neonates, the end of the tracheal tube is very often placed just 1 to 2 cm above the carina.

Deep insertion of a suction catheter carries the risk of iatrogenic bronchial perforation and pneumothorax.

Unomedical’s Mülly metric suction catheters lessen this risk by cm markings on the catheter providing full control of insertion depth for accurate catheter positioning.
